Last week this precious woman went to her eternal home in Heaven and reunited with her husband, son, my mom, and so many others.
There is no other person in my life who has known me longer (44 yrs) AND taught me so much as a kid (SS and GA’s), kept in touch, hosted me regularly in her home throughout my life (she was a true hostess!), vacationed together, had similar heartaches and cried with me often over them, and treated me with unconditional love just like a daughter.
Besides Mom and my mother-in-law Mary, no other woman has influenced me, mentored me, and poured love into my life like Dee. The world is less beautiful this week, and I’ll be forever grateful that the Lord moved us to St. Louis for a little while so that Dee could forever be a part of my life.💗💗
*A few photo notes (and once I get old photos out of storage I’ll probably post again): the top right is one of my favs because we both couldn’t stop laughing long enough to take a selfie. It was taken last year when Dee drove me into the mountains to see the fall colors. It was the last photo we took together and I’m so thankful to have it. The one with Jack and with my sister-in-law Mindy were taken in Hawaii. And the bottom right is one of our many meet-ups at Cracker Barrel. The group photo was one of my wedding showers hosted by my mother and her amazing friends, several of whom I’m sure are throwing Dee a fabulous welcome party in Heaven!*
